This past Christmas our kitchen was forever changed when Lonnie won this miraculous device. At first, it just looked big, like it was going to overwhelm our already device laden counters but when I started reading the cookbook that came with it, I knew we had to try it out. It was offering miraculous cooking times on things like frozen pork loin, steaks, and fish. It also offered one-pot meals you could set and forget. Like most people my schedule is crazy busy so by the end of the day, I really don’t want to spend a whole lot of time in the kitchen making something healthy. Well, fast forward, after reading all of the things it could do I knew I had to try something even though we had already eaten dinner. So I grabbed some pork chops seasoned them and put them on the air fryer setting for 19 mins at 290. I went and sat in the living room to watch some TV when about 15 mins into the cooking time I noticed the delicious smell of pork chops that have gotten crispy on the fatty edges wafting into the living room. I went to check on them and they were absolutely perfect. I turned them over to give them another 5 mins only to discover that you don’t need to turn them in the Foodi because the hot air gets to all sides. I tested the internal temp it was spot on what it should be. I took them out, gave one to Lonnie and I had one. They were some of the best pork chops I’ve ever had. Completely cooked, not pink at all but they were still moist in the middle and crispy delicious on the outside. Everything we’ve cooked in this from broiling to baking to pressure cooking to air frying has come out absolutely perfect. If you don’t already have one or are considering getting an instapot, I highly recommend the Ninja Foodi instead. The instapot doesn’t have the air fry feature and is smaller. We’ve cooked in this now at least 2 to 3 times a week every week since we got it. One last bonus is that it doesn’t heat up your house, which if your broiling, say a steak is pretty awesome especially in the Summertime.
