Day 3 of 4 – Beef n Butter fast
Sorry for the late posting. Yesterday (day 3) was difficult. I was feeling hungry, grumpy, and overall anxious (for no reason). Typically when I've done this 4-day fast, I've already transitioned into Ketosis and have been eating keto daily. The most difficult part of yesterday was the cravings, horrible cravings for cookies, bread, and a salad of things. The day started, as usual, wake, coffee, walk Fancy, etc. It's really important during this pandemic to have some sort of schedule I think, especially since our regular work/life schedule is so disrupted. The rest of the day is somewhat of a blur. I watched a new Netflix series on 17th Century Italian witches, Luna Nera paid bills, napped, and before you knew it dinner had rolled around. I have lost another pound so that was good however my ketone reading for yesterday afternoon was a bit of a disappointment as you can see below;
I can't really account for why my numbers dropped from .9 the other day down to .2. The only thing different was the time I tested and I had had an iced coffee with sugar-free hazelnut syrup in it but that shouldn't affect my ketone levels.
I had decided that the best way to deal with the cravings was to feed them more fat. I would have a handful of macadamia nuts, a few slices of Genoa salami, or a slice of cheddar cheese, most of which ended up going to Mr. Fancypants. I swear this dog must have been a mouse in a previous life, he goes bananas for cheese. It got me through and here we are now Day 4.
I'm feeling much much better. I was determined to get a good night's sleep so I put a few drops of Pure brand lavender essential oil on a makeup remover cotton pad and rub it on the pillows. It creates an intoxicating aroma that very quickly lulls you to sleep. According to my Withings sleep tracking pad I slept really well sleep score of 85.
I won't bore you with the regular morning routine. I will share that my ketones are definitely back to where they should be, 0.8, which means I'm back in ketosis.
I weighed in this morning as well and I've lost 5.3 pounds since yesterday. I'm down to 287.0 overall. My total weight loss during this fast has been just over 10.1 pounds in 4 days. Tonight we're making Keto Crack Chicken in the crackpot. Chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and yes lots of cheese over cauliflower rice and topped with green onions. I'm looking forward to it. I'd say overall this has been a good fast, a little tough yesterday but well worth especially for the quick weight loss and getting things back to where they should be on my journey to better physical Wellness. I'm looking forward to sharing more of this journey with you. Please comment or question, I'd love to interact and find out where you are on your Wellness Journey.
Blessings
