Day 1 of 4 – Beef n Butter fast
I woke up today feeling pretty good actually. All the work we did in the backyard this past weekend left me feeling accomplished. The work also left me tired and ready for a good night's sleep. I did the regular morning routine, feed Fancypants, get a cup of coffee, sit, read news/emails/facebook, take Fancy for his morning walk. I've never encountered another creature that enjoys his morning walks more then Fancypants. He practically dances, checking out his favorite bushes to pee on, the squirrel trees, the neighbor cats sunning in the morning sun. It's really a joy to be a part of it.
Today is a new beginning. As I mentioned in my previous post, Lonnie and I are getting back to eating healthy/keto. For me personally, my goal over the next month is to increase Wellness in all areas of my life. It's becoming increasingly plain that if and when I get to go back to my 9-5 job, that's only going to get us by economically so I have to do something more. But first more about Keto. I'll be posting my weights and ketone measurements here for no other reason than, well its a journal, and years from now when I read this I'll be able to look back and say ahh, that was a smart choice I made. Got on the scale this morning and unsurprisingly I've gained a ton of weight since I was laid off. My weight this morning is 291.7 (Obese). Here are my Ketones;
Anything below .5 and you are definitely NOT in ketosis. Anywhere between 1.0 – 1.8 and you are not only in Ketosis but in high fat burning mode. When I'm at 1.2 I'll drop 4/5 pounds a week. This is the goal to quickly get back to Ketosis, bypass the Keto flu and start dropping the weight.
I mentioned earlier that total Wellness was the goal. For me this includes, financial, sprirtual and emotional. Financial wellness for me comes in the form of my own business. I've had my own business, TheWellnessWork.Shop for several years now. I haven't been actively growing my business. It's something I need to pickup and start doing again. The great thing about it is that not only is it a fantastic business that helps ordinary families it's been providing me month after month with residual income. So thank you to all of you that read my blog and are on this journey with me. Please feel free to tell me how you're coping with this crazy time we're going through. What's changed for you and what do you see on the other side of all this?
